UKAEA is Europe’s most experienced nuclear decommissioning organisation, and also carries out internationally-acclaimed research into fusion energy.

We are taking forward the clean-up of UK civil nuclear research sites on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority - ensuring safety, environmental protection and value for money for the taxpayer.

At Culham Science Centre we provide the UK’s contribution to research into fusion, which offers a clean and efficient source of energy for the future. We also operate the world’s largest fusion research device, JET, on behalf of the European Commission.
