Enviromental Transport Association

About the ETA

Did you know that road transport is responsible for 26% of the Britain's total carbon dioxide emissions?

Here at the Environmental Transport Association we encourage individuals and businesses to become more aware of how they use their vehicles and set their transport policies.

By reducing and offsetting the emissions they produce, each person will be doing their bit to reduce the effect on the environment.

Here are just some of the ways the ETA supports the greener motorist:

  • Our Green Tips for Motorists provide suggestions on how people can make small changes in the way they drive which can, over time, save the environment and their pocket
  • We started Green Transport Week back in 1992. Held each June it demonstrates how we can all reduce our dependency on cars
  • We started the National Car Free Day, which has since been adopted throughout Europe and around the world
  • We research and produce the annual Green Car Buyers Guide and the Company Transport Survey
  • We commission and undertake research into environmental transport issues, we actively lobby government and key decision makers and we meet regularly with ministers to discuss new thinking in environmental transport.

We are the world’s first carbon neutral motoring organisation, with firmly established environmental and ethical business policies to ensure that our day-to-day activities respect the environment.
