The Chamber of Shipping is the trade association for UK-based shipowners and shipmanagers, working to promote and protect the interests of its members both nationally and internationally.


With 134 members and associate members, the Chamber represents over 793 ships of about 21 million gross tonnes and is recognised as the voice of the UK shipping industry.

The Chamber works with the Government, Parliament, international organisations, unions and the general public on behalf of the sectors that make up the shipping industry to ensure that the UK continues to be a global centre for shipping business – with world-class standards and an internationally competitive and consistent fiscal and policy environment.
