NOAH - Feed The World Event - Tuesday 15th February 2011

The National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) has announced the date of its fourth Food Chain conference, Feeding the World, which is being held at the Royal Society on Tuesday 15th February 2011.
The conference will look at the growing global demand for protein, - and the role of livestock medicines and animal science in meeting this demand, against a background of limited natural resources, increased disease, climate change and other global pressures.
NOAH has been working with Professor Andy Peters, MD of Arpexas Ltd and visiting professor at the University of Nottingham, to determine how existing and new animal medicines and advances in science can be used to help meet these challenges. His presentation will be a main focus of the day.
Neil Parish MP, Professor David Leaver of the Royal Agricultural College, and Dr Gabriel Oluga Aboge of the Central Veterinary Laboratories, Kabete, Kenya, are among the other speakers. The Chairman is former dean of Cambridge Veterinary School, Lord Soulsby of Swaffham Prior.
Delegates are to include representatives from Government, Non Governmental Organisations, farming, animal science, the food industry, education and the media.
The conference is being held in The Kohn Room, at The Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AG. Tickets are £110 each plus VAT.
