SORP consultation exercise - 04/03/2009

The National Housing Federation, Community Housing Cymru and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations are seeking your views on a potential change to the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) for Registered Social Landlords (RSLs). Together, the three federations form the SORP-making body for RSLs and support the work of the RSL SORP Working Party.

The RSL SORP Working Party invites you to respond to the discussion papers on three issues; Impairment; Business Combinations; and the Treatment of goodwill and intangibles (negative goodwill)

These were identified by the SORP Working Party as issues for which additional guidance was required. Each discussion of the three papers seeks to explore practical issues and considers any future changes against a background of convergence with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
