The Mayhew on ITV London Tonight: The Mayhew Animal Home has been working with programme makers on ITV London Tonight as part of a three-part series addressing the issues surrounding status dogs in the capital. Animal welfare workers, including a spokesperson from The Mayhew have been discussing the aspects of over-population, micro-chipping and the current legislation regarding breeds such as Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Pit-Bull types.

The series was shown in succession on the week beginning 05/01/09 at 6pm and featured one of the dog welfare cases, who arrived at The Mayhew only six weeks ago. A young Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Beth, arrived at The Home six weeks ago suffering from neglect and severe injuries.

She is now on her way to a speedy recovery and more details about her journey to health will be shown on tonight's programme. Click here to watch the previous reports online.
