With 25 years experience, we have acquired a global reputation as a provider of safe motherhood and obstetrics, as well as quality family planning services. In addition, we carry out information, education, communication and advocacy programmes; STI and HIV/AIDS prevention, detection and treatment; as well as health, education and support programmes designed specifically to benefit vulnerable communities, such as adolescents, refugees and internally displaced people.
By providing adequate and appropriate information on reproductive health and making services and supplies widely accessible, Marie Stopes International helps achieve better health status for women, men and children, and directly contributes to sustainable development and poverty reduction. MSI advocates for increased political and financial commitment to sexual and reproductive health programmes within the UK, the European Union and with international organisations such as the UN, WHO and World Bank.
This is achieved by working with key decision-makers and through the international development community, emphasising the integral role sexual and reproductive health plays in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), ensuring gender rights and reducing poverty. MSI supports its Partners in the developing world to influence policy decisions of their governments in favour of sexual and reproductive health and rights as well as to have their voice heard at an international level.

. providing client 104,572 client services and receiving 320,363 calls for information and bookings via the call centre during 2007 alone
. being the largest provider of abortion services outside the NHS, performing over a third of all procedures in England and Wales each year
. being the partner of choice for over 70 Primary Care Trusts in the NHS
. developing the centralised 24 hour booking system so that clients have the quickest possible access to all of Marie Stopes International's services. We now also offer telephone consultation and face to face consultations within 24 hours and abortion treatment within 2-3 days. Appointments to have a female sterilisation and vasectomy normally take place within 2-3 weeks of the booking being made
. an innovative approach - Marie Stopes International has pioneered the way abortion and sterilisation services are provided. Every aspect of service delivery from booking through to dedicated post treatment aftercare has been designed with client in safety, quality and convenience in mind
