Livability: Roger Royle joins 'Footsteps of Moses' Trek

Friday, 24 April 2009 12:00 AM

National disability charity, Livability, together with BBC Radio Two's Roger Royle, is inviting participants to embark on a unique challenge this November, following the footsteps of Moses at Mount Sinai.

The five day trip will involve hiking through the picturesque Sinai valley, a visit to St Katherine's Monastery and a trek up Moses Mountain, finishing at the Red Sea coral resort of Sharm el Sheikh.

Roger Royle is encouraging other intrepid explorers to join him on this trip of a lifetime, which will raise funds for Livability, the largest Christian disability charity in the UK. Livability works with over 8,000 disabled adults and children nation-wide providing residential care, holidays, education and community lifestyle support.

Roger Royle said: "I shall certainly be taking the tablets before I set off for Sinai and I just hope that my fellow travellers arent as troublesome as Moses' were. It will be a matter of putting a best foot forward in aid of a very worthwhile cause: Livability."

John Chamberlain, Director of Fundraising at Livability, said: "We have never held this kind of fundraising event at Livability before, and were really excited about having Roger join us on it. The Mount Sinai trek looks set to be a truly unforgettable experience and will raise much-needed funds for our important work with disabled people."
