Livability celebrates the summer at Ote Hall

Wednesday, 3 June 2009 12:00 AM

National disability charity, Livability, is hosting a garden party at Great Ote Hall near Burgess Hill on Sunday 19 July to raise funds for their vital work with disabled children and adults.

This garden party with a difference will not only include the quintessentially English combination of a glass of Pimms along with strawberries and cream served on the lawn, but will also offer inspiring seminars from Britain's leading horticulturalist, Dr. Marston, on designing with plants and year-round gardening, throughout the afternoon.

Family activities include arts and crafts for children, face painting, a brass band and a potting shed in which children can make their very own creations to take home.
The day will raise money for Livability's work with disabled people, including a residential home in Bognor Regis and a supported living project in Eastbourne.

John Chamberlain, Director of Fundraising at Livability, said:
"We need to raise thousands of pounds each month to support the disabled people we work with in Sussex; hosting a garden party seems the perfect way to help us do this.

"Ote Hall is a stunning example of Tudor architecture set in 400 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. It is usually closed to the public but has opened its gardens exclusively to Livability to hold our first ever fundraising garden party. We're keeping our (green) fingers crossed for good weather, but with such a great line up were sure its going to be a fantastic day regardless."
