Wednesday, 16 Jul 2008 11:30
The healthy and sustainable communities of the future depend on all of us taking our responsibilities seriously. Where businesses and voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) work effectively together the results can have a far reaching and often an unexpected positive impact.
Why you should attend
This event will explore the ways in which businesses and VCOs can work together to achieve shared goals, as well as consider how, by working better together, we can achieve more.
The breakfast briefing will explore the following questions:
How can your organisation improve its long-term performance?
Ben Kernighan (Deputy Chief Executive, NCVO) will provide an indispensable snap shot of the latest trends, news and key challenges facing VCOs and businesses that work with them.
How can VCO’s and Businesses achieve the greatest impact for their causes and beneficiaries?
Debbie Phillips (Global Community Manager, Barclays Bank Plc). Barclays is widely acknowledged as a responsible business with a highly respected community investment programme. Debbie Phillips will share with us an insight into how the maximum impact is achieved for the communities they work with and how their outcomes are shared more widely.
Groundwork (Speaker tbc). We all have a responsibility to improve our environmental impact. Groundwork UK is a registered charity which aims to build sustainable communities in areas of need through joint environmental action. Groundwork UK will share with us the latest examples of their innovative work with businesses and communities that helps to improve the places where we all live, work and play.
