Course Aims

A one day, face to face training course which provides participants with the basic principles of trusteeship, highlighting the key trustee duties, responsibilities and powers. The course offers an ideal introduction to trusteeship.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course participants will

  • be familiar with trustee duties, responsibilities and powers

  • be familiar with the regulatory framework including pensions regulator, ombudsman and codes of practice

  • recognise the requirements necessary to carry out trustee administration

  • be able to identify the responsibilities of the scheme actuary and key actuarial principles

  • be able to identify the main risks attached to pension scheme finance

  • be familiar with the components of the pension scheme investment cycle

  • be able to determine how good governance impacts on scheme administration.

    Target Audience

    Suitable for new trustees, those thinking about becoming a trustee and anyone who needs a clearer understanding of the trustee role.
