This public meeting will present a summary of the responses to the consultation of the next Strategic Plan 2009 - 2014.

At the ESRC we are vitally aware of the importance of critical research capacity in key social science areas. We also recognise the need for the transfer of social science knowledge and public engagement activities with our user communities and the general public, including practitioners and policy makers at all levels of government. Thus we would like to invite all interested people to attend the Open Meeting where a summary of the responses to the current consultation will be presented. This will be followed with a panel discussion and a question and answer session with members of the ESRC's Council to help us understand the different views presented.

There is no charge to attend the Open Meeting, but for registration purposes please indicate if you would like to attend by emailing esrc@vistaevents.co.uk. There will be sandwiches and coffee available from 5:30 pm with the meeting starting at 6 pm.

This event is being held at 76 Portland Place, London.
