Welcome
Credit Action - Better thinking about money
Credit Action is the national money education charity (registered Charity No. 1106941) established in 1994.
We are committed to helping people manage their money better. Our passion is to help people stay in control of their finances, rather than let money control them and disrupt their lives through over-indebtedness.
We produce a range of resources which aim to help everybody handle their money well. Credit Action operates at a national level through advocacy, collaboration and partnerships with various groups and companies as well as at a local level through targeted strategies that have a particular emphasis on helping the most vulnerable and the financially excluded.
We try and help as many people as possible avoid the pain of debt. However we recognise many contacting us will be in trouble already, so we have very close links with the major debt counselling charity the Consumer Credit Counselling Service
www.cccs.co.uk (Registered Charity No. 1016630). They provide all debt counselling and management services totally free. Their Helpline number is 0800 138 1111.
Whilst Credit Action has long standing connections with the church, we are committed to working with all groups regardless of their faith or other affiliations to help everyone manage their money well. Credit action's charter can be viewed by

We believe the issue of personal money education is vital. The problems of debt go far beyond just the worry money can cause; time off from work; broken relationships as a result of the pressure; visits to doctors due to stress; and, in severe cases of desperation, some even end up resorting to crime or tragically committing suicide.
Credit Action aims to help people to live in a financially sustainable way, releasing people to take control of their financial future and to avoid the hardship that serious over-indebtedness brings.
