CML News & Views: Largest lenders of 2010

Wednesday, 24 August 2011 4:52 PM

It’s that time of year when the CML publishes collated lists of the largest 30 lenders in the previous year, ranked both by their level of gross lending and by the total value of their outstanding mortgages. With all the usual caveats about the difficulty of comparing lenders on a like-for-like basis, you can see who did how much in 2010 in today’s CML News & Views.

We also provide a quick compare-and-contrast on the two recent housing equity research reports published by the CML and by rating agency Standard & Poor’s. Which areas of the UK are most affected, and what are the market impacts?

Finally, you’ve seen the original press releases on buy to let and arrears and possessions in the second quarter of the year, and you’ve probably seen some media coverage of them too. But have you seen the comments that readers have made on the reports? We take a look at some of the social media feedback, and reflect on what insights it can give us.
