CAFH: Blue Fox MP’s and the Repeal of the Hunting Act 2004, New Years Day 2013

Tuesday, 1 January 2013 9:09 AM

Following Environment Secretary Owen Paterson’s recent comments regarding the chances of a free vote on the repeal of the Hunting Act 2004, Lorraine Platt, Co- Founder of Conservatives Against Fox Hunting (The Blue Fox Group), says:

"The commitments we have from Conservative MPs to vote against repeal or abstain indicate that any attempt to repeal the hunting act would be defeated.

Three quarters of the population oppose repeal. Additionally contrary to arguments by the proponents of hunting, more than two thirds of people who live in rural communities oppose any repeal of the Hunting Act 2004.

In the 21st century there should be no place for clubs of people chasing an animal to its death for their pleasure."
