CIOB: Sixteen leading Industry Speakers at Doha Masterclass

Thursday, 3 March 2011 12:00 AM

Hill International and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) have announced that the internationally acclaimed Masterclass in Construction Delay and Disruption will this year be held in Doha Qatar for the first time on May 9 and 10.

Established in 2000, the Masterclass brings together sixteen internationally renowned speakers from construction and construction law. The two-day event will focus on the latest legal updates, technical instruction, and the future of construction in Qatar and the GCC region; providing the tools necessary for professionals to understand, manage and avoid delay, disruption and disputes in construction projects.

With over 35 years global experience in the industry and widely regarded as a leading authority and expert within his field, Senior Vice President and Head of International Expert Services at Hill International, Dr. Franco Mastrandrea, will be one of several technical leaders presenting at the Masterclass. He will be speaking on issues relating to cost and quantum analysis as well as joining a panel debate at the end of the two-day event.

Dr Mastrandrea, who earned his LL.B., from the University of London and M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Reading said "The Masterclass provides an excellent opportunity to share knowledge and information between legal and technical experts from around the world. We're delighted to be hosting the latest of these events in this region. This Masterclass has been designed to provide the most useful and pertinent information to all attendees from architects and developers to contractors, lawyers and all those involved in the construction and engineering industries."

John Douglas, CIOB Director, commented that the CIOB Hill International Masterclasses are firmly established as world class events that attract top level speakers and delegates from all over the globe. The 2011 programme beginning in Doha will continue to deliver Masterclasses of the highest quality.
