BUAV's Chief Executive, Michelle Thew, met with David Miliband, Labour Leadership candidate this week to discuss animal welfare priorities for the country. This was a positive meeting and we are delighted to see that David Miliband has subsequently issued a statement on his blog setting out his aspirations for a future Labour Government in this area.
The BUAV warmly welcomes David Miliband's statement. Michelle Thew said, "Many voters attach great importance to animal welfare issues and it influences their choice of party. I hope that all the Labour leadership contenders will now recognise the protection of animals as an important issue."
