BSIA: new section chairmen take up the reins

The British Security Industry Association has announced a number of new appointments following its Annual General Meeting held on 15th July.

BSIA Company Secretary, Alan Barwell, comments: "The effectiveness of the BSIA as the representative body of the security industry is achieved not only by the work of Association staff, but also the dedication of members willing to serve on committees and as chairmen. The structure of the Association means that every section has a voice on BSIA's Council and therefore, has a role in shaping the future of the Association's work. Our thanks go to the outgoing section chairmen for all they have contributed as we welcome a new group of chairmen into post."

New BSIA section chairmen and vice-chairmen have been elected for terms of office commencing in July 2009 as follows:
Cash & Property Marking Section: Chairman - Chris Taylor (Selectamark Security Systems plc); Vice-chairman - Digby Ram (IBP Group Ltd); Cash & Valuables in Transit Section: Chairman - Ashley Bailey (Loomis UK Ltd), Vice-chairman - Ian Nisbet (G4S Cash Services (UK) Ltd); CCTV Section: Chairman - Pauline Norstrom (Dedicated Micros Ltd); Vice-chairman - Alan Lefford (RemGuard Ltd); Close Protection Section: Chairman - Dave Allison (Octaga Security Services Ltd); Security Consultancies Section: Chairman, Ian Johnson (Ian Johnson Associates Ltd), Vice-chairman - Barry Walker (MFD International Ltd); Security Equipment Manufacturers Section: Vice-chairman - Geoff Pye (Optex (Europe) Ltd); Security Guarding Section: Chairman - Bill Muskin (VSG), Vice-chairman - Charles Millar (Izon Security Ltd); Security Systems Section: Chairman - Tim Geddes (Yeoman Monitoring Services Ltd).
