BSIA members preview Intersec Dubai 2012

Thursday, 5 January 2012 5:00 PM

Members of the British Security Industry Association's Export Council have given an exclusive preview of what visitors can expect to see at this year's Intersec exhibition, which takes place in Dubai on January 15th – 17th.

As the trade association representing the UK's private security industry, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and its dedicated Export Council play a vital role in forging productive trade links between UK security companies and overseas buyers from around the world. This year's Intersec Dubai event will be no exception, with the BSIA and many of its members on hand to provide advice and guidance on the latest products and services that the UK has to offer.

"With UK security exports growing steadily year-on-year, creating and maintaining links with overseas buyers and distributors is essential to our industry," comments Caroline Strickley, Export Services Executive at the BSIA. "Intersec Dubai is a key date in our calendar, providing an opportunity for our members to engage with these audiences and position the UK as a leading force in global security provision."

Members of the BSIA's Export Council will be showcasing a range of products and services at this year's event, including:

Mike Parry, International Security Sales Manager at Remsdaq, who was awarded the BSIA’s Chairman's Awards earlier this year, comments: “Remsdaq have been an active member of the BSIA Export Council for over 15 years and they provide a very supportive role for UK exporters, primarily market awareness of what British security companies can provide in terms of goods and services.

Being part of the BSIA’s UK Pavilion at Intersec reinforces the Remsdaq brand in the region and is the ideal platform to launch Remsdaq’s latest groundbreaking product developments, Entrostar and Entrowatch.

Entrostar is the world’s first PoE+ enabled BACnet access control unit. This affords open connectivity to any BACnet compliant building management system and the ability to power up to 2 locks and 4 readers without need for an external power supply. Entrostar is available in 1, 2 door, or ASSA-ABLOY HI-O variants. To compliment Entrostar, Remsdaq is also launching Entrowatch. This entry-level access control, video management and ID badging system is license free and designed to require no training to implement. To view our exciting new products, come and talk to our team on booth 4-527C.”

Brian Kelly, Managing Director of Bold Communications: “Bold Communications, leading UK supplier of open platform alarm handling software, will be presenting Gemini 1.3 at INTERSEC 2012. Gemini is our fully IP enabled central station monitoring solution used widely in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. INTERSEC provides an opportunity to meet our local Gulf partners and clients, and bring them up to date with the latest developments in Bold monitoring software. As a regional show, INTERSEC draws in a range of security industry professionals from throughout the Middle East.

“Bold will be exhibiting on Stand 4-428C as part of the BSIA UK Pavilion, and is a long standing member of the Export Council, which provides a valuable support, advice and a networking forum for members. Please visit us on stand 4-428C.”

Stuart Reynolds, International Sales Director at Metham Aviation Design (MADCCTV): “MADCCTV has been exhibiting at Intersec for over nine years. In each case we used the expertise of the BSIA and their organisation of the UK Pavilion. Our exhibits include a full range of working CCTV hardware products from robust and high quality pan and tilt heads, environmental camera/lens enclosures, integrated dome units to long range surveillance systems.

New to the show this year is our long-range surveillance system. This includes an ultra-slow and smooth pan and tilt head with camera housing incorporating a large zoom lens (up to 60 x zoom) and camera, full electronic interface and control. The unit can be used to identify people and vehicles at up to 3 kilometres and can be used for general surveillance at much greater distances.”

Tony Smith, Major Accounts and Marketing Manager at Integrated Design Ltd: “We are long time exhibitors at Intersec and see this as the premier security event in the Middle East Calendar. We exhibit our range of turnstiles and will this year be launching our new Glassgate 150 IP connected turnstile. We continue to be impressed with the quality and quantity of visitors to the show and look forward to it every year.”

Justin Roberts, Sales and Marketing Director at Elmdene International Limited: "Intersec ranks as one of the most important exhibitions we attend anywhere in the world. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase our capabilities in the pivotal Middle East region where we are witnessing strong demand for electronic security and fire solutions, despite the global slowdown. In terms of new product developments, a key focus for us at Intersec 2012 will be energy efficient switch mode power supplies, especially those targeted at CCTV applications. The growing interest in switch mode technology is being driven by its ability to deliver significant operational savings through high efficiency levels of 80-87%, compared to 50-55% for a linear approach. As a BSIA member the advice and support provided by the Export Council has been a great help to us in identifying market opportunities and demonstrating our commitment to the highest possible level of industry standards and best practice."

Rob Harris, Marketing Manager at Connexion 2, which is making its debut at Intersec Dubai in 2012: “We’re always keen to raise the profile of lone worker safety in new markets and as this is our first appearance at Intersec, we’re looking forward to engaging with new potential partners in the Middle East who share the same goals.”
