BSIA: Free event to give Scottish businesses an insight into latest security developments

Scottish businesses are to be given an exclusive insight into the security challenges they face at a free-of-charge event taking place in Edinburgh this autumn.
Entitled ‘Scotland: Secure for Business’, the event will inform local businesses about security trends, and will take place at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Tuesday, 23rd October.
Organised by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and delivered with the support of Scottish Enterprise, the event is open to delegates from all business backgrounds in both public and private sectors, and the comprehensive conference programme will offer a wealth of advice and guidance on current security issues and the latest developments from the industry.
Speakers for the conference programme have been confirmed as:
Dr Nick Bland, Head of Scottish Government’s Police Reform Delivery Unit, speaking about fire and police reform across Scotland and its impact on Scottish business.
David Sadler, Head of Games Services at Glasgow 2014, discussing the forthcoming 2014 Commonwealth Games and the opportunities for local businesses that this will bring.
Keith McDevitt, Cyber Security Integrator at Scottish Government, speaking on the fast-paced world of cyber security.
Chief Superintendent Ellie Bird MBA BA FRAS, Area Commander for Scotland in British Transport Policce, discussing transport security.
Delegates will be given the opportunity to pose questions to each speaker, enabling attendees to gain tangible benefits for their individual organisations.
Ross White, Senior Executive – Aerospace, Defence and Marine at Scottish Enterprise, comments: “This one-day security-focused event is aimed at providing businesses with the latest information and guidance on planning for the impact of a multitude of security challenges, including cyber crime.”
