bmf's Tail End Show on the move!

Monday, 14 December 2009 12:00 AM

As part of the British Motorcyclists Federation's 50th year celebrations, the bmf's Tail End show is on the move! After ten years at Peterborough's East of England Showground, Tail End will move to the stunning Lincolnshire Events Centre at the Lincolnshire Showground.

This is the first major initiative from the bmf's new event organisers the Mulberry Group and comes after a thorough review of the whole of the bmf's events' portfolio.

Signalling a complete overhaul for Tail End with a new location, fresh layout and new attractions, the Lincolnshire Events Centre (www.lincs-events.co.uk), located on the main A15 just 2 miles north of Lincoln, was readily identified as being in the right place and with the right facilities for this major initiative. Recently benefiting from a £7.8 million investment programme, the massive 205 acre site also offers over 3,000m² of indoor exhibition space in addition to the external exhibition areas.

The move will not only provide a fresh venue for visitors and traders but gives the bmf the opportunity to introduce new attractions and also to offer additional benefits to its 80,000 members, including 'members only' access points and reduced rates for camping and day admissions.

Commenting on the move, Martin Chick from Mulberry said: "Our research has shown that people are happy to travel to attend bmf events and traders are keen to support the bmf, so relocating Tail End to Lincolnshire will not only give visitors a change of scene, it also gives us an opportunity to innovate and put on a new, reinvigorated show at a venue that is easily accessible."

Lincolnshire Events Centre's, CEO Mark Farmer said: "The bmf's Tail End event coming to our venue is fantastic news. This prestigious event gives us a chance to demonstrate that this venue is second to none. There's easy access from major routes but a wonderful rural setting once you're on the site. Lincoln and Lincolnshire is very welcoming to the motorcycling fraternity and we have successfully hosted the European Lambretta Jamboree in 2009 which showed how warm a welcome the area will give to those attending the bmf event"

Utilising the venue's award winning eco-building, the EPIC centre, which showcases the best in sustainable business practices, the bmf will also be emphasising motorcycling's green credentials through the Mulberry Group working closely with the venue staff in evaluating the reduction, monitoring and possible carbon off-setting of the event.
