National Stroke Strategy - Have your say
On 9 July 2007 the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson, announced the publication of the draft National Stroke Strategy for England. This came in the same week as a speech in Parliament on stroke, in which he said:
"Having brought about huge reductions in cancer and heart disease, we must now promote the treatment of strokes to become our top priority".
We feel that the stroke strategy could be the most important document on stroke care in England for a generation, and would help to make stroke a top priority. It is due to be finalised by the end of this year and a consultation period is currently underway, providing the opportunity for everyone with an interest in stroke to have their say.
Your views and opinions really do count so we urge you to submit them to the Department of Health (DH).
