Shelter is committed to developing its own good practice models for the housing sector, as well as encouraging innovative services from other agencies.

Please do contact us if you have a successful strategy or project you wish to share with the housing community.

Multi-agency working

It is becoming essential to work in partnership with multiple agencies to solve housing needs. This section looks at how health, legal, social and other services can be co-ordinated to best effect. Visit the Shelter website for more information on multi-agency working.

Street homelessness

Street homelessness has both complex causes and effects. Those who sleep in the streets are socially excluded and often need the support of several agencies. Visit the Shelter website for more information on street homelessness.

Young people

Professionals working with children and young people need access to good practice, as well as good quality educational materials and information on housing and homelessness. Visit the Shelter website for more information on young people and the work we do.

Vulnerable and marginalised groups

For whatever reason, some groups in society are viewed as either hard to house or somehow less deserving of professional support. Visit the Shelter website for more information on vulnerable and marginalised groups.
