Regional Committees
The UK is divided into eight regions, each with its own functioning committee
Each region has a structure consisting of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman who are elected by the membership within the region.
These are supported by a regional committee which draws its members from sheep farmers, breed societies and other organisations with an involvement in sheep farming within the region.
The committees are each served by a Regional Secretary who also liases with the national headquarters.
They each hold regular meetings to discuss policy and matters affecting the industry in the region. The views and opinions from the region are then conveyed to the Council and Executive to influence NSA policy. Regional Committees are also largely responsible for the activities of the Association within the Region, focusing on the issues or technical areas which are related to the farmers it encompasses.
