ETA’s political agenda
On BBC News 24, we were asked to comment on Labour's manifesto relating to transport. With the upcoming elections, sustainable transport must be taken seriously. The ETA believes our transport system should provide an effective means of transporting goods and people with minimal impact on the environment.
ETA’s manifesto:
Transport should play its part in reducing global warming.
Travel should be no more dangerous than any other normal activity.
People should have an expectation of arrival without delays.
Transport should improve our quality of life not make it worse.
Transport like any other industry should pay its way.
When we build we should take into account transport needs.
These six key points should underpin any political party manifesto. You can raise these issues by contacting your local parties and asking them to cut through the platitudes and explain their manifesto in everyday terms or write to your local paper to express your view.
