Registration

The Register for social care workers opened on 1 June 2003.

A major part of the drive for higher standards in social care services, registration will help give social care workers the recognition they deserve. It will also allow service care users to be confident that they can depend on a trained and trusted workforce.

The Register will put social care workers on a similar footing to other public service professions, such as medicine and teaching.
