How We Work

BSA works under the guidance of the Council, made up of senior management representatives from each member company.

The Director-General heads the secretariat which comprises a small professional staff, drawing on an external network of Strategic Partners and other specialist advisers.

The secretariat is responsible for providing support to the Council and its specialist committees, as well as for co-ordinating research and policy formation. It also provides administrative support for the Parliamentary All Party Group for Business Services, which has a pivotal role in representing the views of the sector to Government, and for the European Business Services Round Table.

A range of specialist groups made up of expert practitioners from BSA’s member companies works closely with the secretariat to identify and address the current key policy priorities for the different aspects of the sector. Members also benefit from the advice and expertise of our Strategic Partners, who attend the quarterly group meetings to update members on specialist issues. The relatively informal setting also gives members the opportunity to meet and speak in depth with key government officials and stakeholders on major policy issues and initiatives.
