Welcome to Avenues

Avenues is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support to people with complex needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and mental health problems.

We have over 750 staff supporting over 400 people every year, either in their own homes or in registered group homes.

Our individualised support enables people to meet their needs and express their hopes and aspirations.

In addition to support services, we also offer organisations consultancy and corporate services, specialising in HR, Training and Finance.

We achieve our mission by working with and embedding the following values;

Avenues has considerable experience of working with people who have moved to our community based settings from long stay hospitals and in developing hospital re-provisioned services.

Our services are often delivered to people with complex needs and challenging behaviour for whom community services were considered to be idealistic.

Avenues is committed to providing individually planned support capable of evolving with the needs of the service user. Like many similar organisations we are also committed to supporting service users to achieve John O'Brien's Five Accomplishments; Presence, Participation, Choice, Dignity and Respect and Competence.

Avenues currently employs in excess 700 staff and believe that investment in our staff is essential to the achievement of high quality, innovative services.

Equality is central to the purpose of Avenues in relation to provision of services to users from groups who have been traditionally discriminated against or have been disadvantaged.

Avenues believes in an open and honest approach to all those it works with, Commissioners, employees, relatives and service users alike.
