Action for Prisoners’ Families 2007 AGM and Conference

'Family Voices - Stories of separation' is the theme of this year's APF Conference and AGM.

The event takes place on Thursday 18 October 2007, 10am to 4.15pm, at London House, Goodenough College, Mecklenburgh Square, London WC1N 2AB.

Speakers include John Bird, founder of the Big Issue, Penny Mansfield, Director of One Plus One and Naomi Eisenstadt from the Social Exclusion Task Force. John Podmore, former governor of Brixton Prison and currently advising the Department of Health on offenders' issues, will chair the panel discussion. Families of prisoners will provide accounts of their experiences, and of the difficulties they face in getting their voices heard, via a variety of media, including films and audio stories.

The conference will be of particular interest to staff from NOMS and the prison and probation services, voluntary organisations and government departments working with prisoners and/or families and children, as well as to prisoners' families and the media.

Places are limited so early booking is advised. Contact: conference@actionpf.org.uk or tel: 020 8812 3600.
