APIL - Association of Personal Injury Lawyers

Welcome

This micro site has been set up by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

A not for profit organisation, APIL was set up in 1990 by a small group of lawyers dedicated to providing a voice for injured people. The association now has around 5,000 members including solicitors, barristers, academics and students.

Representing the membership is an 18-strong executive committee, which includes a president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. APIL’s head office, which is run by a staff of 30, is based in Nottingham.

APIL’s main objective has always been to fight for access to justice for people injured through negligence. This objective remains a priority, and through its campaigning work the association is now a recognised voice within Government, the media, and other organisations.

Anyone can be injured, and those who are have the right to compensation to cover any lost earnings, pay for future care and help them return (as far as possible) to the position they were in before they were injured.

APIL campaigns to protect the right of injured people to compensation and other forms of redress and protect their right to obtain legal advice. We also campaign for improvements to health and safety practises to prevent avoidable injuries from occurring in the first place.
If you would like any more information about the organisation or on any of our campaigns please do not hesitate to contact APIL’s Head of Communications, Lorraine Gwinnutt, at:
