3M launches new era of pocket projection

Friday, 28 August 2009 12:00 AM

Next generation pocket projectors raise the bar in terms of size, style, brightness, connectivity, battery life, sound and so much more.

Bracknell, UK, 28 August 2009 - Diversified technology company 3M is pioneering the evolution of mobile projection with the introduction of a next generation range of feature rich, ultra-portable MPro Pocket Projectors. Small in size but huge in style, the MPro120 Pocket Projector is first in line to launch, offering improved device connectivity, industry leading brightness, integrated speakers and longer battery life. Spanning all ages, genders and occupations, the range addresses market demands for the latest and greatest projection gadget for people wishing to share or present on the move.

The new MPro120 is a pass-through, full VGA pocket projector. Its comprehensive, high quality PC, video and audio connectivity enables easy, flexible hook up to laptops and netbooks, as well as smartphones, digital media players, digital cameras, camcorders, games consoles and other multimedia devices for spontaneous sharing of content on the spot.

"3M was one of the first to embrace a new breed of micro projectors in 2008 and now we are introducing the industry's only full VGA, high brightness pocket projector," said Nick Hughes, Marketing Manager, 3M Projection Systems division. "As you will see from the specifications, our new era MPro120 Pocket Projector has been designed with evolving customer needs and usage behaviours in mind. Watch this space for further exciting developments of our pocket projection range in the near future."

MPro120 projects images from 8" up to 50" on any flat surface and its enhanced battery life means users can enjoy an impressive continuous viewing time of between two and four hours without plugging into the mains. Its two built-in half-watt speakers make presentation and video delivery even more impressive. An integral flip down stand allows users to raise the projected image if MPro120 is placed on a flat surface and a tripod is supplied for situations where greater stability and balance is required.

Based on the entirely new MM200 LCOS micro projector engine from 3M, MPro120 achieves an exceptional 12 lumens of brightness corner-to-corner at full VGA (640 X 480) resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio in enhanced brightness mode. For situations where the user has more control over lighting conditions, the brightness level can be switched to 10 lumens. No matter what the application, sharp, vibrant colour images can be projected in any personal or business environment.

MPro120 is a small pocket projector making it easy to transport in a handbag or laptop carry case. The soft touch, high-gloss finish creates an extremely attractive, stylishly designed device. It also comes with a soft pouch to help protect against scratches, dust and fingerprints.

The MPro120 is available on 1st September 2009 and has a recommend selling price of £299 including VAT. Please visit www.3M.co.uk/pocketprojector for more information.
