3M Exhibits 20 and 40 Finger Multi-Touch HD Displays at Kiosk Europe Expo 2012

Thursday, 31 May 2012 4:14 PM

Bracknell, UK, 31 May 2012 – Diversified technology company 3M will be showing its full new range of multi-touch desktop displays on Stand D08 at Kiosk Europe Expo, 12-13 June, The Station, Berlin, Germany. Displays ranging from 18.5-inch to 27-inch will demonstrate how 3M’s portfolio is expanding to address a broader multi-user/multi-touch application environment. Other stand demonstrations will include a 32-inch multi-touch chassis unit in a table configuration.

Multi-touch HD Displays
The new multi-touch displays combine uncompromising multi-touch performance, brilliant high-definition graphics, wide viewing angles and elegant product design into fully-integrated, easy-to-use, plug-and-play multi-touch desktop devices. The 18.5-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display M1866PW, 21.5-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display M2167PW and 24-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display M2467PW all offer 20 simultaneous touch events at an ultra-fast 6 millisecond response time. Whereas, the 27-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display M2767PW offers 40 touch inputs with a 10 millisecond response. Integrated palm rejection capability creates natural user operation when using one or two hands, and superior touch accuracy enables precise touch performance, even at display edges and corners.

The displays each feature a sophisticated flat front surface design to match the elegant and modern aesthetics of popular portable consumer devices. Their anti-stiction surface provides improved usability for multi-touch applications and is easy to clean, eliminating dust and dirt build up. Incorporating a 1080 HD LCD display with LED backlight, the displays offer users high-impact on-screen interactive experiences. Images are vivid with enhanced brightness and contrast levels. Furthermore, wide viewing angles allow for viewing flexibility.

Large Format Multi-Touch Display
In addition, 3M will be exhibiting its 32-inch 3M Multi-Touch Display C3266PW chassis unit. Ideal for integration into larger systems by integrators and OEMs, this large format multi-touch unit enables true multi-user interaction for cutting edge collaborative and interactive applications. Utilising 3M Projected Capacitive Technology (PCT), the unit delivers 40 simultaneous touches and an ultra-fast 10 millisecond response time while rejecting palms, to create a natural, intuitive and responsive user experience. The stunning industrial grade display has full HD resolution with a fine pixel pitch to maintain sharp image quality while performing up-close interactions. A 120Hz refresh rate keeps content crisp and clear while users interact.

The Multi-Touch Display C3266PW features a chemically-strengthened glass construction and its ultra-slim (2.6-inches deep) and lightweight (26 lbs) design makes it an ideal high performance, easy to integrate, professional multi-touch display for a range of digital signage, interactive table and kiosk solutions.
