Gordon Brown is set to create an online version of prime minister's questions by pledging to respond to video clip questions submitted by the public via Downing Street's YouTube website.

Introducing the plans, Mr Brown said the online PMQs would become a regular event allowing the public to hold politicians to account.

"Politicians get a chance in prime minister's question time and other question times - I think it's time the public had a chance," he says on the introductory video.

Users are asked to file their questions for the Ask The PM sessions via the site by June 21st.
