House of Lords hits YouTube

The videos are hoped to appeal to younger voters
The House of Lords is trying to challenge its crusty and out-of-date image by launching a series of videos on YouTube.

The second chamber already has a YouTube channel, but it has remained static apart from a virtual tour of Westminster Hall.

"The videos we have placed on the YouTube channel reflect the diversity and expertise in the House of Lords and its relevance to young people," said Lord Speaker Baroness Hayman.

"We hope that they will help to combat some of the outdated stereotypes of members of the upper house."

The videos will go live on parliament's YouTube channel shortly.
