A blogger is inviting members of the public to join him in the House of Commons dressed up as the main character from the film and graphic novel V for Vendetta.

Old Holborn, author of a popular libertarian blog, has stressed on his blog that the event will not be a protest - merely "a walk in the Autumn sunshine to watch our elected representatives at work".

The plan will celebrate the historical Guido Fawkes and his gunpowder plot, while acknowledging "the only man ever to enter parliament with honest intentions".

Readers can join the faux Guido Fawkes from noon on Thursday November 5th as he walks from Trafalgar Square to Downing Street to hand a Carson Rose through the gate - the character V always left a rose at the scene of his crimes - then onwards to the Public Gallery at the House of Commons.

The blogger is encouraging his readers to dress up in pig costumes and masks to give politicians a November 5th that "will never be forgot".

The plan follows on from last year's November 5th events, in which ten protesters wearing Guy Fawkes masks were arrested in Parliament Square, and civil rights campaigners sent every MP a copy of George Orwell's Nineteen-Eighty-Four.
