‘Mums in pyjamas’ to target Tory party conference

‘Mums in pyjamas’ to target Tory party conference

A delegation of mums will protest outside the Tory party conference wearing only pyjamas next week.

The campaign comes as Manchester town hall cuts all council-run Surestart services, nurseries and daycare.

Playing off stereotypes about single mothers who spend all day in bed, campaigners will arrive for the protest wearing just their nightwear.

The protest will form part of a larger union-organised gathering, with over 10,000 expected to march outside the conference centre next weekend.

Manchester council claims it has no choice but to cut services due to huge funding cuts from central government.

Early years staff will be slashed and childcare provision drastically reduced.

The Tory party conference starts on Sunday October 2nd in central Manchester.
