The brother of Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams has been arrested in Ireland after handing himself in.
Liam Adams had been wanted by the Police Service of Northern Ireland over allegations of sexual abuse.
Irish police officers had not been able to arrest him when he walked into a police station before Christmas because a European arrest warrant had not been issued.
One was issued earlier today. "What is now important is that this case is placed before the courts and allowed to proceed without further delay," a Sinn Fein spokesperson said.
