Tory rising star wins local party row

One of David Cameron's most promising female politicians has won a battle of wills which saw her temporarily quit her post as the Conservative candidate for Westminster North.
Ms Cash, the wife of Mr Cameron's Eton contemporary Octavius Black, reportedly stepped down after the promotion of her local association's chairman Amanda Sayers to the role of president.
"Lots of rumours flying around distracting from business of electing a new govt!" Ms Cash tweeted on Monday night as speculation about her future raged.
"Go go go people!! We have work to do."
Yesterday afternoon a Conservative party spokeswoman confirmed she had quit her post.
But by the evening she had been reinstated. The row with Ms Sayers, which media speculation claimed focused on Ms Cash's pregnancy, had been won by one of 'Cameron's cuties'.
She later admitted on Twitter: "I did resign. Assoc did not accept. CCHQ has resolved specific issue so I am not leaving. It's official DC has changed the party!!!!!!!!"
Ms Cash had been viewed as a potential housing minister in Mr Cameron's first Cabinet and had been handed the Westminster North constituency, one of the Tories' key target seats.
