Osborne faces expenses judgement

George Osborne will learn if he is to be penalised over his expenses claims later.
The shadow chancellor was investigated over his second home allowance by the parliamentary standards watchdog.
The Tatton MP was accused of over-claiming on his mortgage in his Cheshire constituency home by a Labour activist.
But Mr Osborne insists he has never profited financially from the arrangement, which saw him claim for a mortgage of £450,000 despite buying the property for £445,000.
The Osborne camp says the complaint was politically motivated and that no impropriety had taken place.
John Lyons, the standards commissioner, is expected to find that Mr Osborne did break the rules but that he acted in good faith, although any sanctions will be announced by the cross-party standards and privileges committee later today.
