Ed Miliband has come clean on his leadership campaign in a wide-ranging and candid interview with politics.co.uk.

The Labour leadership candidate, who is tipped by many Westminster observers to be edging into the lead over his brother, discussed his past voting record, his role writing the Labour manifesto and attacks on his personality by the "New Labour establishment".

Ed Miliband: The interview

The interview comes as the Labour leadership race enters its final stages. Ed Miliband has secured the support of the UK's largest trade unions - one of the three voting blocks involved in the decision.

His elder brother David is thought to have secured the most support among Labour MPs but analysts are stuggling to predict how Labour members and activists will vote.

The winner will be announced on September 25th, just before the party's annual conference.
