The SNP’s court bid to be included in the final leaders’ debate has failed.

The party launched an action at the Court of Session in Edinburgh to get a place in the BBC debate tomorrow.

It had raised £50,000 in two days to be able to begin proceedings.

But today judge Lady Smith rejected the party’s attempt to have the debate blocked if it was not allowed to take place.

The party’s nationalist allies in Plaid Cymru also hoped to be included in tomorrow evening’s debate.
