Sheriden denies perjury

Tommy Sheriden and his wife have pleaded not guilty to charges of perjury at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The former Solidarity MSP denies charges relating to evidence he gave while fighting a defamation case against the News of the World in 2006.
The left-wing firebrand and his wife, Gail, will go on trial in January at the High Court in Glasgow.
