Third incident at G20 referred to IPCC

A third incident at the G20 protests has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The incident took place on April 1st, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service said.

No further details have been released so far. The IPCC is currently investigating two other incidents at the G20 protests, both caught on camera.

Ian Tomlinson, 47, was filmed as he was knocked down by a police officer, and later died.

A police officer is being questioned under caution on suspicion of manslaughter.

The second incident involved Nicola Fisher, 35, from Brighton, who claims she was hit in the face the following day, on her way to a vigil for Mr Tomlinson.

She has accused the officer involved as being "aggressive and unnecessary". Ms Fisher has admitted pushing the policeman.

Policing at the G20 protests at the beginning of April has been criticised for the 'kettling' tactics used, as police penned crowds in.
