London Mayor Boris Johnson is launching a campaign today to convince firms to open up their toilets to the public.
Washroom facilities in the capital are down 40 per cent since 1999, leading to calls for restaurants and companies to open up their facilities to the non-paying public.
"Letting people know where they can use the toilet, and encouraging businesses to open their facilities to the public, will not only make the city a more civilised and pleasant place to live but also to visit," Mr Johnson.
'Open London' stickers will appear on the doors of firms willing to allow people to use their toilets.
London has double the level of loo closure that the country in general.
