Tory MP faces deselection

By politics.co.uk staff

Tory MP Anne Main will find out if she is to be deselected by her constituency party over her expenses claims tonight.

The St Albans MP was revealed to have allowed her adult daughter to live rent-free at her publicly-funded second home.

Today, members of St Albans Conservative Association will decide whether she should stand as an MP in the upcoming general election.

Ms Main is expected to address the meeting, followed by the association spokesman. There will then be a vote.

The parliamentary commissioner for standards, John Lyon, is currently reviewing the case against her.
