Friday sees a spate of manifesto launches, with UKIP, the SNP and the Welsh Liberal Democrats all setting out their election stall. Elsewhere, Labour is focusing on childcare and education, the Conservatives on pensions, and the Liberal Democrats on the environment.

Labour

• Chancellor Gordon Brown is making a speech in London on childcare and education (time: 1030)

Conservatives

• Conservative leader Michael Howard is campaigning in the South East of England.

• Conservative party co-chairman Dr Liam Fox, and Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary David Willetts are hosting a press conference on pensions.

Liberal Democrats

• Liberal Democrat leader Charles Kennedy is focusing on the environment, before campaigning in the East Midlands (am) and the South West (pm).

Scottish Green Party

• The Scottish Green Party is campaigning in Edinburgh for fair food trade (time: 1000).

SNP

• SNP leader Alex Salmond is launching the SNP's election manifesto in Glasgow (time: 1030).

UKIP

• UKIP leader Roger Knapman is launching the party's general election manifesto in London (time: 1000)

Welsh Liberal Democrats

• The Welsh Liberal Democrats are launching their election manifesto (time: 0830)
