Fathers 4 Justice promise more direct action

The controversial campaigning group has vowed to "dramatically escalate" incidences of direct action against high profile figures.

Fathers 4 Justice hit the headlines over the past year with a number of audacious stunts, including "Spiderman" whereby a member chained himself to Tower Bridge.

It is perhaps best known for the "powder bomb" attack on Tony Blair during Prime Minister's Question Time. The breach of security, which saw the Prime Minister hit by purple flour, led to an immediate security review of the House of Commons.

The attack was of particular political embarrassment considering the UK is meant to be under a high security alert against the threat of terrorism.

Following a meeting at the weekend, Fathers 4 Justice has pledged to continue with civil disruption on "extraordinary high profile targets."

Matt O'Connor, the group's founder, said: "We will surprise and challenge both the public and the police in the coming months with a series of daring campaigns. Quite simply, expect the unexpected - everything is up for discussion and the results could be very chaotic."

"We are halfway through our three year campaign and the second stage will now see more and more activists being drafted into front line action in the run up to the Election next May. Quite simply we have nothing to lose and everything to play for."

The group is campaigning for reform of the family law system claiming that it fails to protect the right of fathers to see their children.
