Worsley MP Barbara Keeley has welcomed news that Salford will receive an extra £54,000 from the Government to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Salford Council will be able to use the money to improve existing measures to tackle anti-social behaviour across communities in Salford. The money can help fund improved training for police and neighbourhood wardens, provide support for community-led projects which aim to engage young people or to offer more help to victims of anti-social behaviour.
Barbara said:
“This extra cash from the Government will help strengthen Salford Council’s efforts to crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour. It means more support for victims of anti-social behaviour and more training for local police and neighbourhood wardens.
“People in Salford will also benefit from the £4 million that is being spent on national campaigns to make sure residents know how to report anti-social behaviour and where to go to receive help. A dedicated team within the Tenant Services Authority will also be set up to help social landlords deal with anti-social behaviour issues.
“People in Salford rightly expect to live in neighbourhoods free from crime and harassment. This extra money will help to reduce the crime and anti-social behaviour that can blight local communities.”
