Policy Network is a leading international thinktank based in London. Through our cutting-edge programme of research, events and publications, our network has acquired a reputation as the leading platform for long-term strategic thinking and international best practice, impacting upon policy debates in the UK, Europe and the wider world.

We are now looking for two proactive research interns to join our small and dynamic team as we move forward with work programmes on: the renewal of European social democracy; the future of the EU; welfare and labour market reform; immigration and political trust; and mutualism and cooperatives.

This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain insight into a number of policy areas and experience contributing to the delivery of high-profile research projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

- Provide research assistance on political and socio-economic issues related to social democracy, the European Union, welfare and labour market reform, immigration, and
mutualism and cooperatives

- Help deliver Policy Network’s external commissioning strategy with the aim of expanding our publication output across different projects, including our social democracy observatory

- Help prepare internal and external briefing documents and speaker profiles

- Support the organisation and planning of seminars, conferences, lectures and other events

- Take and write-up seminar and conference notes

- Administrative work

PERSON SPECIFICATION

- Educated to degree level, with a strong academic background in economics, political science, history or other relevant field

- Excellent analytical skills, with an ability to understand and communicate new and complex concepts and issues

- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral

- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to balance several tasks and operate in a high-pressure environment

- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships and work well with people from different backgrounds

Part-time: 3-4 days per week – flexible work arrangement possible
