Save British Science - Researchers need protection

The director of Save British Science, Dr Peter Cotgrave, has said that he supports new proposals to jail violent animal rights protesters for up to five years.

Dr Cotgreave, speaking to politics.co.uk, pointed out that as intimidation and harassment are already offences "the existing laws should have been enough". But, he felt that "the law clearly isn't working" with hard line protesters and asserted that the Government was justified in taking steps to protect researchers and their families, adding: "Let's try this and see if things get better."
